Donald Tunnell, 80, of Baileyton, Greene Co TN, passed
away Friday, May 12, 2012, at Laughlin Memorial Hospital.
He was a partner in Tunnell Brothers Farm. Farming was
something he dearly loved.
Mr. Tunnell was a member of First Baptist Church of
Baileyton, having accepted Jesus Christ as his Savior at
a young age.
He was a loving brother, uncle, and friend to many,
especially his Porter's Grocery buddies.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Horace Tillman
and Bertha Goodson Tunnell; and a special aunt, Kate
Survivors include two sisters and a brother-in-law, Yvonda
and Luther Center, of Berea, KY, and Helen Tunnell, of
Baileyton, TN, his special caregiver; three brothers and a
sister-in-law, Edd Tunnell and Harold Tunnell, of Baileyton,
TN, and Carroll and Faye Tunnell, of Kingsport, TN; two
nephews, Stephen Center, of Cary, NC, and Luther Center
Jr., of Circleville, OH; and special friend, Jonathan
The family will receive friends from noon to 2 p.m.,
Monday, May 14, 2012, at Jeffers Funeral & Cremation
Service, downtown chapel, with the funeral service
following at 2 p.m., in the chapel. The Rev. Nathan
Reynolds and the Rev. James Roberts will officiate.
Interment will be in Zion Cemetery at Baileyton.
Pallbearers will be Hobart Reynolds, Jimmy Tunnell, Dwight
Tunnell, Claude Tunnell, Eugene Britton, Pete Burns, John
Dunn, and Kenneth Brown. Honorary pallbearers will be
Billy Robinette, Cole Spears, Bill Spears, Elmo Jones,
Philip Wilcox, Don White, Cecil Malone, Bobby Barger,
Steve Brown, Lonnie Keys, Don Bryant, Kenneth "Bud"
