Hello there, Patrick.
Yes I do have the info. Brian was born after his father's death and I have no details thereafter. Anne, neither.
Marmaduke was aged 6 at his father's death and died 26th March (4 and 5 Philip and Mary).
He married Maria SCARGILL, daughter and co-heir of Sir Robert SCARGILL, Knt, Lord of Scargill, etc co. York. She died 21 Elizabeth. Will dated 20 Nov and proved 21 March 1578.
They had a son Francis (27 at his father's death) who married Anne, daughter of Richard BOLD, co. Lancaster; a son Thomas, married Grace, daughter of Cuthbert BRACKENBURY; a son Robert, married Anne, also daughter of Cuthbert BRACKENBURY; a daughter Isabella, married William REDMAYNE and a daughter Anne who married John DAWNEY.
The above Francis had a son, also named Francis, who sold Thurland to John Girlington, married Elizabeth GASCOIGNE, sister to Sir William GASCOIGNE, Knt; a son William and daughters Maria, Margaret, Joan (m Francis PHILLIPPE), Alicia and Elizabeth.
The above (second) Francis had a son Marmaduke who married Katherine WYCLIFFE, daughter of William WYCLIFFE, Lord of Wycliffe and they had a son William (married Mary RATCLIFFE, daughter of Sir William Ratcliffe); a daughter Elizabeth (m. George MARKHAM of Oilerton, co. Notts), Catherine (m. Thomas CROMLEY of Bramby, co. York) and a son Francis of Ovingtion (b. 1623), m. Anne REDALL of Fenham, co. Northumberland.
William above had a son Francis, m Cecily, daughter of John CONSTABLE (Viscount DUNBAR); and daughters Mary (m. Henry LIDDELL of Farnham, co. Durham), Catherine, Margaret, Elizabeth and Anne, and finally another son Thomas (b. 1640).
Francis (of Ovington) had sons Marmaduke (eldest and heir), William (b.1661), Thomas (b. 1662), and daughtets Catherine, Barbara and Mary.
William's son Francis had a son Marmaduke, died without issue; and a son Cuthbert of Burthon Constable in Holderness - inherited from his uncle john CONSTABLE, Viscount DUNBAR, when he assumed the name CONSTABLE). Cuthbert married first Amy CLIFFORD (?) and then Elizabeth HENEAGE.
Marmaduke and Elizabeth had a son Marmaduke who married Mary MARKHAM of South Audley St, London and resumed the name TUNSTALL. However, Cuthbert had previously had children by Amy, namely William (CONSTABLE) - died without issue 1791 - and daughters Cecily (b. 1724, m Edward SHELDON) and Winifred (b. 1730).
Cecily and Edward SHELDON had two sons, Edward andFrancis, both of whom took the name CONSTABLE upon inheriting the family estates - Edward in 1791 and Francis (d. 1821), on the death of his brother. The estates passed into the handsof aliens, becoming the property of Sir Thomas Hugh CLIFFORD, Baronet.
If I remember correctly, the above printed pedigree was copied to me by my cousin in Scotland who has also been researching the family. It should stand up although I think there may be some gremlins in earlier lineage around the 1400's.
Hope this is of use. if you have any interesting information - fore and aft ofthe above - I should be grateful to hear from you. You can mail me if you wish on
