My greatgrandfathers name is Franz Turek. He was living in Eger (today Cheb) in Czechoslovakia until his death in 1886. He also has stayed in Komotau, where he managed a hospital. He was married. We don't know anything about his spouse or children. After he got divorced, he had a relationship over a couple of years to a woman with the given name Klara (my greatgrandmother). They had three children together, one was my grandfather Kaspar, born in Eger.
He told us, that his father Franz Turek could'nt get married to Klara since he was rom.-kath. and a second marriage not possible.
After Franz Tureks death (suizide) Klara got married to a man with the name Jelinek and he gave her children his name. That's why we are Jelineks, without to be related to the Jelinek-family. She lived with Jelinek in Tetschen-Bodenbach (Decin). After the second worldwar they had to leave Bohemia and went to Germany.
Since this story contains facts nobody liked to talk about those days, there is unfortunately no more knowledge about names, places and times. Only one foto of Franz Turek exists, taken latest in 1886 in Eger. We really would like to know more about our ancestor Turek and will be glad about ev'ry hint.
