Dear Ann, John Turlington married Maary Phillips and did have only one child, William. William married Ann Mary (Surname unknown) and they had two sons Peter Turlington and William Turlington Jr. The decendants of this Peter are documented and most of the family still lives in Accomack Co. today living on what was originally called Hickory Hill Farm. The Hickory Hill Farm is property that was willed to Peter and Olive Turlington (nee Wilson) in 1730 when Olive's father Thomas Wilson died. Peter and Olive are the first Turlington's I can find in Accomack Co. records dating back to the late 1690's and through 1720. Your John Turlington is a son of this Peter and Olive. John's siblings were Peter Jr., Thomas, Mansfield, and Mary. My information stops at John S. Turlington's grandson William Jr., Son of William. I believe I'm descended through the William Jr. line. I think my Aser (or Asa) Turlington is William Jr.'s grandson, but I have no proof. I hope to discover more next week at the GHOTES conferencein Accomack Co. (see web sitehttp://www.esva.net/ghotes/index.htmhttp://www.esva.net/ghotes/index.htm) It's very possible that you and I are distant cousins. I have photos of my great grandfather William Thomas Turlington who lived in Accomack Co. I might post them on the GHOTES web site. My dad appears there as a member of the 1923 Keller High School baseball team and his Salutatory Speech given to his HighSchool graduating class is also there. Please keep in touch.
