I've just gotta respond to this. Settling a bit of the confusion perhaps... in my line of the family there are THREE George Turnbow's (actually more, but these are the ones I think may apply here.)
Starting at the oldest generation:
I. JOHN ANDREW1 TURNBAUGH
II. George Sr. Turnbow was born in 1766? Lewis Co. near Hohenwald, Tenn. He is known to have purchased land in Lewis Co. from the state in the 1830's.George Sr. Turnbow had the following children: 1. George Jr. Turnbow
III. George Jr. Turnbow (parent George Sr. Turnbow ) died 1863. He was a soldier in the Confederacy and fought in the Battle of Ft. Donelson, Tenn.Before the Civil War, George was a farmer. George Jr. had the following children: 1. Dillahunt Turnbow
IV. Dilliehunt Turnbow (parent George Jr. Turnbow) was born in 1854 in Lewis Co. near Hohenwald, Tenn. Dillahunt died Spring 1924 in Haskell, Texas. He is buried in the Turnbow Family Cemetery, just west of Hohenwalk, Tenn. He was the third of approx. five generations of Turnbows buried there Dillahunt married Vica (Vicie) Ann Carter. Vicie (parents John Carter and Ann) was born March 22, 1855 in Linden, Tenn.
V. George Alvis Turnbow (parents Dillahunt Turnbow and Vicie Ann Carter) was born Sep 14, 1878 in Tennessee. George Alvis died Sep 4, 1964 in Haskell, Texas.George Alvis married Lydia Julia Josselet on Dec 25, 1903 in Texas. Lydia Julia (parents Victor Joseph Josselet and Catherine Pauline Hugon) was born Dec 3, 1880 in Uruguay, South America. Lydia Julia died Sep 4, 1954 in Texas.
VI. Woodrow Wilson Turnbow (parents George Alvis Turnbow and Lydia Julia Josselet) was born Dec 22, 1913 in Weinert, Texas. Woodrow Wilson died Jan 3, 2000 in Haskell, Texas.(Woodrow Wilson Turnbow is my grandfather)
