My Tourneys (or Tournier or Tournear) didn't arrive until 1830 into Stark County, Ohio then on to Adams County, Illinois. They started dispersing from Adams County in the late 1850s and went everywhere.
The John B. Tourney (Jean Baptiste Tournier) you spoke of, b. 1795, France, is the head of this family. His second wife, Marie Catherine Belot, was previously married to a Nicholas Moulin and they had a son, Peter Moulin, who did live under the Tourney name for a while.
Also, I did find a Peter Turney that is in Adams County, IL (in 1860 I believe) that isn't this Peter Moulin (since he had already moved on to Daviess County, Missouri by then); I still don't know who he is.
