I do not believe Thompson Tuten and Thomas Tuten are the same person. The birth dates do not add up. According to the 1850 Beaufort, SC census Thompson Tuten married Ann. I am a descendant of his son, James Robert Tuten. He is buried in the Rohobeth cemetary in Pierce Co., Georgia. He was married to Mary Ann Peacock. My line continues with their son,Albert Lawton Tuten who md Piety Mozell Dixon. Their son, James Lewis Tuten is my Grandfather. He married Bertha Lee Davis. They had twelve children. The oldest being my father, James Walter Tuten. I have found a lot of information in a book called The History of Pierce Co. Georgia.Tabitha Tuten was the daughter of of James Robert and Mary Ann. She married Jacob Thomas Minchew of Ware County, Georgia. I have yet to find the Old Iron Bridge Cemetary that everyone is talking about. I have been asking for years. No locals seem to know where it is at. Does anyone have directions? I would love to go there and see if I can find anything.
