No, nothing else other than what I've got from you and Tony.
I thought I could get some information on my uncle Thomas Reddan STUART if I could get something on the TUTEN line given that one of his nieces was Barbara Jeanette TUTEN, which you already know.
Although I still don't have hardly any TUTEN data, or STUART data either, I have been able to get additional information on my uncle Tommy's mother and her ancestors through a great tip from soneone on the MERCER list. She was Mary Alice MERCER and married Thomas Singleton STUART in Georgetown, SC around 1900-1903.Not sure where Thomas Singleton STUART was born and raised, but Mary Alice MERCER was born in Georgetown, SC and descends from:
- George Redman MERCER (Civil War vet) and Sarah Catherine Hazelton (parents) - Christopher Columbus MERCER & Mary Caroline REEVES (grandparents) - Redmond MERCER & Sarah TAYLOR
All of the MERCER names appear to have originated in the Brunswick County, NC area (around Bolivia) and migrated to Georgetown, SC (Sampit community). Most of them are buried at the Mercer Cemetery, Hwy 521, Georgetown County, SC.Hope to get down there one day to see the graves.Mary MERCER died in 1964 in Brevard County, FL while my uncle Tommy was still alive. She is buried at Oak Grove Cemetery, Georgetown, SC.
Anything you can provide that will tie me into the STUART lines, as well as any and all info on the TUTEN lines you'd care to share, would be appreciated. Will be happy to share the MERCER info with you as well, plus anything you need on my CARTER side.
HVJ in 1969?How about that.:-)I'm a 1964 grad and my sister was there in 1963.
