My Great, Great, Great Grandfather was James Armstrong Tweddle, b. 1842 in the tiny village of Greystoke (pr. Grey- stock) in the Northumberlandarea of Northern England. If you have a map of England, you will see the village is about half way, as the crow flies, between the City of Carlisle on the M-1 at the Scottish border and the Town of Keswick in the Lake District.
I do not know what his wife's name was.He had seven children. Two of his sons emigrated to North America. One, my Great Great Grandfather settled in Toronto, Ontario. The other son settled in Montana.
Do you know that you can sesarch for your grandmother's birth, marriage etc. at Somerset House in London?
Hope this helps.Let's talk further.I live in Charleston West Virginia.Where are you?
