Ruth:My grandfather was Almon Robert. He died well before I was born.He had three sons by his first marriage. They were Frank, James Fredrick and George. His first wife died and he remarried to Beryl Cross Blackwell of,I think, Clay, Kentucky. He then had Almond Robert, a daughter Beryl, and my father Kenith.(funny story here)His mother and father disagreed over his name.He was born on the family farm. She named him Byron Mansfield Tweedy and he grew up and spent his entire life as Byron (they called him Barney)At age 62 he wrote back to Booneville for his birth certificate and found out his real name was Kenith.Almon had gone to the courthouse and registered him under the name he had liked.I suppose those things could be done in 1917.Thanks for writing.
