I am so happy to find all of you in the Twente line.I am the g g grandaughter of Susan Twente and William Bridges, who fought in the Civil War. He died in an accident on the way to be mustered out. He was the son of Andrew Jackson Bridges and Patience Turpin. I believe Susan's full name is Anna Susana (not documented). She was born 1833 Ohio, not sure where, but wish I did. She m. William Bridges 24 June 1852 Alexander Co., Ill. Williamwas b. 1832 Alex. Co. Ill. d. 29 Dec. 1865, Cairo, Ill. I believe both are buried at the Twente Crossing Cemetary.According to my research Louis Twente had his hands full.He not only had his own children to care for, but also became the guardian of SusanandWilliam's . Can anyone fill me in any blanks? I would like info. on where, what and why on the trip from Germany, the location in Ohio where they were, why Susan died at 25 yrs of age, etc.I'll be glad to share what I have.
