Yvonne, I was doing research regarding a copy of a handwritten diary I have written by Lorenzo Twitchell. He came to the gold rush with a large group of 50 wagons and met up with another train of 75 along the way. They traveled through Salt Lake. Lorenzo's wife's name was Irene, possibly but I'm not sure, a Hooper. They had a baby girl Annie at Sutter's Fort on July 6, 1849. They later settled in San Juan, then Monterey Co. in 1851 and had 8 other children. Annie was married William Stowell. I was intrigued by your email as you mentioned San Juan. Do you have any knowledge of Twitchell and the diary or any other family information I can find?He supposedly is related to my brother and I'm trying to find the link. Thanks!
