Does anyone have this Nancy Twomey or Toomey in their lines? She married Richard Stephens Sr. Their son, Richard Lewis Stephens, was my g-g-g grandfather.
Nancy was born around 1790--location unknown to me. She is buried at Walnut Grove, Monroe County, TN with her husband. There is a four-sided spiral gravestone there in the Stephens plot, with her name and the death date of 1853 on one of the four sides of the square base. Also on the grave stone are "Richard," (death date 1844) "John D. Stephens," "Patsy" and "Betsy." No dates, except for Richard and Nancy.
Richard and Nancy had nine children:
Richard Lewis Stephens Jasper Stephens Daniel L. Stephens John D. Stephens Faithy Ann Stephens William Ashbury Stephens Cecil (Cecilia?) Stephens Elizabeth Stephens Sarah Stephens
The only other information that I have is that Richard originally owned land and lived in Rutherford County, NC before 1827 and moved to Monroe County, TN somewhere between 1827 and 1830.
