I saw your posting and wondered who your grandmother was? with info about the Tyers family in India. I know you posted it a few years ago, but I really hope you pick this up.
I also have info on Rosa R Tyers b Surat India who was I believe born as Rose Annie Reed, orphaned in India on 23 Sep 1873 when her parents (Edward & Mary Reed)and brother William Henry Reed b 16 Sep 1871 all died in a railway collision at Parell outside Bombay. Rose was with them age 5, but she was the only survivor. Her father Edward Reed worked with Benjamin Willoughby Tyers on the BBCI Railway at the Parell Workshops. I believe Benj informally adopted her and brought her back to Swindon with him. She later married Alfred Henry Day, and Benj Will Tyers was a witness at her wedding at St Marks Swindon 22 Dec 1892 where she gives her father as Edward Reed deceased and her address as 19 Wellington Street.(Benjamin Will Tyers house.
Do email me if I can give you more info. Regards Pam Willoughby
