I have discovered that at least four different Tysons married into my Cupp family tree in Wood County, OH during the late 1800s.Or should I say that the Cupps are small twigs on the Tyson family tree?
In 1865, David Keyser Tyson married Angeline Cupp.David, born 1844, was a son of Henry Landis Tyson and Deborah Keyser.Angeline Cupp, born 1845, was a daughter of Jackson Cupp and his first wife Caroline Menser.
In 1881, John Henry Tyson married Isadora Cupp.John, born 1850, was a son of David Landis Tyson and Margaret Henry, and a cousin of David Keyser Tyson above.Isadora Cupp, born 1863, was a daughter of Jackson Cupp and his second wife Permilla Jackson, and a sister of Angeline.
In 1883, Christina Tyson married Willis Erving Cupp.Christina, born 1865, was a daughter of Isaac Landis Tyson and Susanna Snyder, and a cousin of John Henry and David Keyser Tyson.Willis Cupp, born 1862, was a son of George W. Cupp who was a younger brother of Jackson Cupp.Christina died at age 17 after the birth of her first child and Willis remarried.
In 1883, Isaac Henry Tyson married Rebecca Cupp.Isaac, born 1853, was a son of David Landis Tyson and Margaret Henry, and a brother of John Henry Tyson above.Rebecca was a daughter of George W. Cupp, and a sister of Willis Erving Cupp.
I believe all these Tysons were grandchildren of Daniel Fry Tyson, born 1792 in PA and his wife Elizabeth Landis. The Cupps are grandchildren of Philip Cupp, born 1784 in PA.Philip moved to Ohio about 1807 and to Wood County in 1839.
I am descended from Daniel Cupp, an older brother of both Jackson Cupp and George W. Cupp.I was born in southern Michigan in 1931, but am now retired and living in northern California.I would appreciate any corrections on what I have on the Tysons. My email is firstname.lastname@example.org.
