Anastacio R. Ulibarri, aka: "Tacho", "Tony", "A.T."
Anastacio R. Ulibarri passed away suddenly on Monday, May 7th, 2007 in Ogden, Utah where he resided for many years.He was born April 27, 1935 in Reserve, NM. He was preceded by his parents Delfino and Prajedes (Romero) Ulibarri, his brothers Ramon, Carlos, Daniel, and Gilberto Ulibarri, and his sisters Amalia Stamper, Belen Allred, and Verna Johnson.He is survived by his brothers Manuel R. Ulibarri (Portland OR), Mayo R. Ulibarri and Herminio R. Ulibarri (Albuq. NM), and sisters Vivian L. Aragon, Flora Opel, Eliza R. Martinez (Albuq. NM), and Dolores R. Serna (Bosque Farms, NM), and many cousins, nieces, and nephews.Tacho is also survived by his two estranged sons, Lenny Youngblood (Okla. City, OK) and Blue (Raynat) Youngblood (Nashville, TN).Anastacio was affectionately known as “Tacho” to members of his family and close friends.He was also known as “Tony” and“A.T.” Ulibarri.Tacho lived in Portland, Oregon during the early to mid 60’s then moved back to Albuquerque. He finally settled in Utah.He earnedtwo degrees from Weber State College, Sociology 1975 & Spanish Literature/Mathematics 1974. He was a Commercial Airline Pilot, Flight Instructor and Ground Instructor, Utah Licensed Real Estate Agent, and Business Broker.
He devoted his free time to helping the community in Weber County Utah by participating in the Big Brothers Program, President of the Weber County Chapter of Sociology 1973, Weber Council of Spanish Speaking Organizations 1973, and Candidate for the Utah House of Representatives District #6 in 1974. He served honorably in the US Navy in the mid 1950’s. To his nieces and nephews he was the “King of Cool” when we were youngsters!
