Thank you for replying.I should have updated the message on GenForum. I have found more complete information. Mary Hardwick Unwin was born in 1787, probably in Mansfield, Notts. She married first Francis Humphreys, who may have been an actor. They immigrated to Montreal and somewhere along the line had five children. I have more information on these descendants if you want it. She married secondly, in Toronto in 1838, Samuel Smith Ridout, son of the Surveyor-General of Upper Canada (as Ontario was then known) who himself held posts as Sheriff of York (as Toronto was then known) and Registrar-General of the province. She died in 1870 in Toronto. Mary Hardwick Unwin was the daughter of Jabez Unwin, born 1761, probably in Mansfield, and his wife. Jabez Unwin was the son of Richard Unwin, born 1715, and his wife Hannah Sansom. Richard Unwin was the son of Richard Unwin of Mansfield, b 1678. I do have information on another Unwin, Charles. He was born in 1829 and was the son of James Brown Unwin and I think a nephew of MHU. I have additional information but I cannot seem to get an e-mail to you. Please contact me directly.Perhaps a reply would work.
Is your George 1820s or 1920s? Let me know and I'll see what I can do.
