If you are related to any of these Urquharts, or if you have more information on any of them, please let me know.My e-mail is firstname.lastname@example.org.I believe the George Urquhart listed below is my 4th-great grandfather, but there is some missing information.
George Urquhart was baptized on 21st of February, 1758, in Old Machar, the son of Ann Gordon and John Urquhart, and had several brothers and sisters also born in the Aberdeen area, mostly New Machar and Old Machar Parishes. After George Urquhart’s birth/baptism, we have no record of him in Aberdeenshire (we are fairly certain he is the same George Urquhart that settled in New Jersey around 1790).
George Urquhart in Aberdeen had the following siblings: Margaret (b. 11 Dec 1759), John (b. 16 May 1761), and Anne (b. 30 Aug 1783).
George Urquhart’s father, John Urquhart, was listed as a weaver by occupation, and was baptised 24 Sept 1724, and John Urquhart’s siblings were Elizabeth (b. 23 Feb 1723), Jean (b. 4 May 1727), Magdalen (b. 12 Nov 1728), Rachel (b. 28 January 1733), Alexander (b. 12 February 1735), and William (b. 4 Aug 1737).
John Urquhart (b. 1724) was the son of Margaret Middleton and William Urquhart (b 1700), son of William Urquhart (b 1680), son of William Urquhart (b circa 1655), son of Walter Urquhart.
