Valencia of Southern California

Hi!
I am 20 years old and just beginning by genelogical quest. I am looking for sites to trace emmigration records for the Valencia side of my family. My Grandfather's name is Fredo Valencia and is of Mexican descent, but I would like information on tracing his linage back to Spain. If anyone could help--that would be wonderful. Thank you.
