I am very sorry for your loss. I had run across the unfortunate information in my research regarding the Vallee family.I am Jack Vallee's grandaughter, my mother is Marly Vallee White; cousin to your late wife, whom I met on a few occasions. And yes, 2nd cousin to your daughters.
I have been working on a genealogy project for the past 6 months for both my mom and dad's side of the family. My grandmother, Trese - saved quite a bit of information, however most I was unaware of until recently. My Aunt Nicky had a box of stuff that she kept after grama's passing.I spent a day with Nicky going through it and I came across a letter you and Vickie wrote to my grandfather a number of years ago, regarding Vallee ancestry - indicating you both had done quite a bit of research.Grama also kept some old pictures of both the Vallee and Spitzmueller families. Its all so very interesting, but challenging trying to fit all the pieces of the puzzle together. One thing I remember from your letter was the mention that my great grandfather, John T. Vallee was into something a bit shady - my guess was that he was a bootlegger during prohibition - but have little to substantiate it, other than family tales.
I do have quite a bit of information on the Vallees, back to John Vallee born in France, his marriage to Mary Mulhand, copies of the land deeds, etc. and the family lineage to the current day, however as I indicated, have been unable to trace it prior to 1827 in France. If interested, I would be more than willing to share what I have, including family photos, some of which include Jack, Bill and John T Vallee - a few early photos of Grampa Jack and brother Bill as youngsters.
I thank you and do appreciate the information you have provided - I will add it to my information. I hope to soon get it all uploaded, so I can share it with other family members.I know my mom and Aunt Nicky will be delighted as well!! Feel free to email me at email@example.com,
Again thank you... and I wish you and your family a very Merry Christmas!!
