William VanHorssen, is now 8yrs. old & entering 3rd grade. William now has two siblings, brother Garret Jr. (3) & sister Victoria (almost 2).William has excelled in the classroom making the all a-honor-roll/ a-b honor-roll during his 1st& 2nd grade school years. William has entered area recycling project contests along with many other children his age from other schools. William has won each of the two contests he has participated in. The 1st place prize for contest one, was a full size chair, recycled from plastic. The hand chair (sit in palm lean back on fingers)proudly sits in our family rec. room. This years 1st place prize came in the form of a brand new Schwinn bicycle. As parents of William, my wife (Denise VanHorssen) & I his father (Garret VanHorssen)couldnt be prouder. Much credit can go to Denise for his classroom accolades. Denise received her Bachelors degree in psychology from Purdue University. Denise then went on to graduate school at Loyola University (Chicago ILL.) & earned a Masters degree in Social work. Denise became a published author in 2007 with the book Baby Nathan, about our son & twin brother to Garret Jr whom we lost at birth due to an illness Denise developed known as preclampcia. She now works as a therapist, specializing in play therapy with children. If all goes as planned William at 8 has already big plans for the future, which include attending Valparaiso University, & pursuing a career in meteorology. What can I say the kid loves school, loves the weather & is very driven for his age. Stay tuned!
