Went back through some old files I recieved years ago from a Junita Morris of New London, NC. I have a book, "George Michael Eller and Descendants in America. Pages 345 - 407 deals with the Vannoy/Vanhoy family. "The Vannoy/Vanhoy family according to family tradition, is of Juguenot extraction, the early family having fled from France to Holland and later going from there to England during the reign of Charles I. The name in France was probably spelled Vannois or Venois. Mr Hook found the several spelling variations of the family name. they were Vannoy, VanOy, Vanhoy, Vannoyt. The last was found in the probate records of Kent Co., De. It also state that John Vannoy/VanOy/Vanhoy had a son John that served in the Revolutionary War.Delaware Records indicate a Pvt John Vanoy in one of the Delaware Regulars Regiments.
also found was Will of John Vanhoy inicates that that John and His 1st wife Ann Clifford had four children, John Vanhoy Jr, Daughter Esther and her husband James Perry, Daughter Mary and her husband Phinehas Boyd and Son Edward. Children of his 2nd wife Jemima are as follows James, Thomas, William,Abrahm, Nancy, Susannah, Clayton, & Rachel
