Peter Van Sickle, one of the oldest pioneers of Nevada, died at his home in Carson Valley near Genoa yesterday.
He came to Nevada in 185? and has lived in and near Genoa ever since.For many years he kept a road house and is popularly credited with killing a deseperado who had defied every man representing the law and order in the country.
Van Sickle leaves a widow, two sons and two daughters.His estate is considerable, consisting of ranch and town lands in Douglas county.
The funeral will be at the home, Friday at 2 o'clock.
