TY Richard. That confirms what I thought. Ranshe's son Minne is the first apperance of the name in the Gulick family that I know of and Johannes is not desc. from any other line with the name.
The will convinces me this is correct.Do you have the date of the will and place, I will not have access to that for a while? If I may impose further, do you know of a reliable source for info on the Johannes line, that is new to me.
I had Ranche's father as Ferdinand, but had never really pursued the line. When I did so recently I found refence to Gertruy as her mother. However I have also seen the family listed without Ransche among the children. And found some had Ransche as dau. of Eva Jansen Van Salee, which I knew to be wrong. Another had her the dau. of Maria/Mary Lanen/Lane.
The first record I have of Ransche is in Johannes Gulick's will, made 1730/31 in Rocky Hill, Somerset Co., NJ.If any Van Sicklen researchers have evidence of her birth, marriage or death (probably in Amwell Twp., Hunterdon Co.) I would be most grateful.
