The following information is from, " The Genealogy of the Family of Reinier Van Sickelen of the State of New Jersey". page
"Reinier Van Sickelen was born in Hunterdon Co. NJ about the yeqr 1723.He married about the year 1746 Maayke Langstraat (Mercy Longstreet), by whom he had 10 children; namely 1. Dirck (Richard), born Sept. 11, 1747;2. Rynier, born Nov. 28, 17493. Annetje (Hannah) born April 18, 1752 who married George Warne, no children.4. Elsje, born Sept. 11, 1754, who died in 1763;5. Katrina (Catharine) born June 15, 1758 who married Jacob Probasco.6. Lydia, born June 20, 1760, who died July 17, 1790;7.Aaron, born July 8, 17648. Peter, born August 26, 1766.9.Samuel, born Jan. 28, 1769
10. David, born July 17, 1771., all were born in Hunterdon Co. NJ, and some who were baptized in the Dutch Reformed Church of Readington, NJ.Reinier was a farmer by occupation, and owned a large plantation, 304 acres, in Hunterdon Co., which is said to have remained in the family about 100 years. "

The family of Richard Van Syckel and Mary Cain. "Richard Van Syckel, the first child of Mercy (Longstreet) and Reinier the 3rd, was born in Hunterdon Co. NJ, September 11, 1747.He married, about 1771, Mary Cain, by whom he had 8 children; namely, 1.Rinier, born in 1772, who was baptized Aug 16, 1773. Married about 1796 in Warren Co. NJ,Ida Van
Arsdale, daughter of Joseph. Rinier was a farmer and died in Sussex Co. NJ.2. (my line)Gabriel, who was baptized Nov. 20, 1774, and who married (wife unk.) and moved to Ohio, and settled in Perry Twp. Tuscarawas Co., where his name appears amoung the early settlers of that town, being born between 1770-1780:3. Richard , who never married.4. Samuel, born Oct. 1, 1780 Warren Co. NJ.He was twiced married; first to Mary Mack, by whom he had 8 children;he next married Lavina Albertson, by whom he had two sons, Isaac and Levi, who died in infancy.He died in Warren Co.5.another son,and three daughters, Mary, Jemima, etc. of whom there is no further trace."
