Hi Hellen,It has been many years since being to the Van Sickle Reunion at the Sugar Bush.My father-in-law is Donald Van Sickle, son of Stanley M.We were of the furtunate ones to get you book and it has gotten a lot of use.In fact, between that and the History of Ancster, I was able to complete Wayne's line back to both Abraham and Isaac.Knowing you have been working on this more than I have, I am wondering if there still is a connection to the Immigrant, Fernandus and Eva Van Sicklen.I have heard that possibly there is one or two more immigrants that have started lines in the US.
I am noticing that Isaac had a son, Lambert. There is only one other Lambert that I can locate other than Isaac's son.
There is a Lambert Van Sickle in New Jersey. He died about 1790 in Drakestown, New Jersey. He married Anne Drake in 1749.His children are John, Jacob, Abraham, Mary, Rachel, Miriam, and Ann.I am wondering if maybe you might have any further information on this line.I am thinking that maybe he might be an uncle to the Isaac who come to Canada.I ruled out father because he is not listed in the data that I found for Lambert and Anne.
Also, besides the first three Vansickles mentioned in your booklet, I found a Peter who also came to Canada from New Jersey, source Family Tree Maker.Have you been able to connect any of the four Loyalists to the lines in New Jersey yet?
I first started doing my mothers family in 1973, before the coputer age, and used your method of numbering my generations and individuals. Thanks, Helen, you were a great teacher. After getting my computer, I decided to do the Van Sickle family and I have quite a large database on that alsoStill, I am coming to hurdles that I just can't seem to get around.Mainly, that is where the division between Canadian Van Sickles start and the New Jersey Van Sickles end.
If I can be of any assistance to you, please don't hesitate as my information is basically yours anyway, only expanded with the other lines that you hadn't included.I went ahead and did those lines because I was finding confusion with so many marriages of Van Sickle to Van Sickle so I just kept going and that was the best way to keep from having a lot of individuals that had no families.
