I too have been having problems locating VanSickle information.I don't know if this will help you at all, but here is what I have from my family line:
John Vansickle (my GGGG Grandfather) died in 1826 at Walpack Center NJ, Sussex Co. a will recorded in the Sussex County Court house naming all 10 of his children as follows: William VanSickle - Oldest son (my GGG Gradfather) Amos VanSickle John VanSickle Cornelius VanSickle James VanSickle Jacob Ayres VanSickle Edward Allen VanSickle Catherine Mary Anne Christian
William VanSickle, my GGG Grandfather was a Private in the war of 1812 having served in the Pennsylvania Militia. We know it was him because he was the only William VanSickle from Sussex Co. NJ who settled in Wayne County, PA (He was around 24 years old at that time)He was discharged from the militia in 1814 after which time he married and settled in Sussex Co. until moving to Wayne County PA in 1839.
William Jackson VanSickle my GG Grandfather (son of William VanSickle listed above), was born in Sussex Co. New Jersey and moved to Wayne County, PA when he was about 9 years old.
William Jackson VanSickle married Phebe Jane Merring they had, I believe 11 children.I have the names listed in a family tree at home, and not here at work, so if this is of any interest to you, I'll be glad to provide their information. At any rate one of their sons was Elmer VanSickle who is my Great Grandfather, he married Mary(?)Elizabeth Putmanand they had children, their names I have listed at home as well, one of their sons was Alvin VanSickle which is my Grandfather, and his son is Dale VanSickle, my father.
I have a very old photo album in which my G Grandfather wrote on the back of photos that I can share names and dates with you. Please email me if this is of any help to you as maybe if we work together we can figure something out.
