I don't list the first marriage to Margaret Writer?Nor do I list the three children born in the 1830's.
I list marriage to Esther Avery (5/17/1818 - 1/17/1881)on 6/15/1849.I list four children of this marriage... Margaret Elizabeth in 1850; Miles Avery in 1851; Edward Alexander(1853-1899); Kate (1858-1895).
I don't have any additional info on these four children, no spouses or children for any of them, although it's possible I have additional info at home that's not in my database.
I show that Alexander and Esther only died about a week apart in 1881 (in South Eaton).... may have been a fire or something or some epidemic?
I see that I don't list parents for Alexander? That's sort of odd since I don't have marriages for any of those four children?Usually I would have followed a child back to it's parents and grandparents, or I would have followed the line from Alexander's parents or grandparents on down to him?And I don't have any notes on any of these guys either, so I'm not quite sure why they're floating around un-attached in my data?
There was an earlier Van Tuyl/Writer marriage though: John Van Tuyl (b 1770-1774, d 1865?)and Elizabeth Writer (1778-1850), married abt 1800.Looks like John was born in Minisink, Orange Co, NY, which is where I show Alexander was from?
I have Walter (b 1767 d before 1851?)and Elizabeth (Graham) Van Tuyl (died 1810-1811) in my data as well, but don't list any children for them, nor do I have parents for Walter.
I'll have to check my Van Tuyl books and see if I have anything additional on Walter and Alexander both I guess (I have five published Van Tuyl genealogies).
My 2g-grandfather was Henry M. Van Tuyl of Miami Co, Ohio.
