I'm sorry, I should have put in the information I know about Charlotte Cadwell's parents -- I don't know what I was thinking about!
Of course Alonzo's father was Jacob & not John!I wrote the last posting without having any of my records in front of me, and my mind hit a glitch.
Charlotte Cadwell was born 30 Jan 1822 in Lexington, Greene Co., NY, and d. 22 Apr 1904 in Ottawa, LaSalle Co., IL.She married 31 Jan 1843, Deer Park, LaSalle Co., IL, Thomas Walker Hennessey, who was born Nov 1811 in County Kerry, IRE, and who d. 29 Nov 1891 in Dimmick, LaSalle Co., IL.
Charlotte's father, Sheldon Cadwell, was b. 1 Sep 1793 in CT (prob. Hartford Co.), s/o Erastus Cadwell & Mabel Bidwell.I have his ancestors back mostly to the immigrants. He m. 23 Apr 1820, Lexington, Greene Co., NY, Aphia Van Valkenburgh, who was born 23 Aug 1795 in Renssalaer Co., NY.Aphia (who never used the English name equivalent "Eve" or "Eva") d. 6 Jul 1876, LaSalle Co., IL.
I have a picture of Charlotte Cadwell & Thomas Walker Hennessey AND I have a picture of Aphia (Van Valkenburgh) Cadwell! It must have been taken shortly before she died (did you notice she was born when George Washington was president, and she died 2 days after the centennial of the Declaration of Independence?).
Can you tell me more about Lambert L. VV & Mary "Polly" Patterson? Most especially, I would like to know why it is believed that Aphia was their daughter.
I have more documents concerning Aphia & Sheldon (they were baptists, by the way, which is why vital records are so difficult to find!), but I am presently visiting my dau. in North Carolina, and I can't access my records until about April 3-4, when I return to Idaho Falls.I can't read my email until then, either, so if you want to answer this write away, please post your reply on this forum.
