The 1843 Oldham county marriage record of William James and Mary Varble identifies George Varble as father of Mary. There are two George Varble father's in the area at that time, but only the younger George Varble, husband of Sarah Carter and son of Revolutionary War soldier Henry Varble has census entries that would reasonably match this Mary Ann. In 1830, this George Varble has a daughter age 5-10, and in 1840 a daughter of age 15-20. These ages match Mary Ann, if we take the common guess that she was age 21 at marriage, or 1822.
To go beyond, George's father Revolutionary War Henry Varble is son of immigrant Philip Verble and Maria Dorothea Egener, as demonstrated by full family reconstructions based on all known evidence.
