My gggrandfather was Peter Jackson Vassar and Thankfule King's son Joshua born 1824 in TN.Married Nancy Summers Oct 3, 1844, I think in Cannon Co., TN.The whole family moved to NW MO. in the mid 1840's, ffound a bio of old Peter (distiguishes hin from Peter Jackson Vassar Jr) where he was one of the first settlers in Worth Co., making his living by hunting mostly.He arrived in 1843 and left the Co., in 1848 for Buchanan Co.MO Joshua moved to SW MO in the early 1850, his son Thomas L. Vassar was born in Pierce City, Lawrence Co., MO in 1855.Between then and 1860 Nancy died and Joshua married Emaline Smith from Franklion Co AR.
Thomas L and his brother Levi were living with their older brother James Richmond Vassar in Capp's Creek Twnshp, of Barry Co., MO in 1870.
So I guess that would make me a 1st counsin three times removed from Celia Vassar Guess. Whoosh, makes my head spin to do all that caluculating.
