Boy, that's what I get for trying to remember stuff "off the cuff".My Vasser file is thick, so I forget who's who in this strange family now and then, even in my OWN direct lines :)
I looked at the Vasser stuff, and you are absolutely correct.I think now that Presia Vassey must have been a baby sister, born WAY late in life, to John and Thomas Vassey.I have seen big age differences in this bunch, for instance: John, b. 1806, Thomas, b. 1811, then if Presia is a sister, she was b. 1828.
I wish somebody versed in Spartanburg and Rutherford counties could do some courthouse work, I'm at a dead end with the resources I have.George Vassey/Vasser, b. 1787 or so, had to leave a will or estate settlement somewhere, and his last known residence was Spartanburg SC.
Just to clear it up a little, "Old John" Vasser, b. 1806, had a daughter named Presia, b. 1844 in Tennessee.I have seen the older Presia listed as one of his children and that is not the case.
Sorry for the mistake. The Vassers are one of my most frustrating lines. I*KNOW* they go back to John in Isle of Wight, through his son Peter, but I'm missing about one generation from tying it all down.
