BERNHARD VATH DIES AT AGE OF EIGHTEEN YEARS
Bernhard Vath for many years in business died Tuesday from general disability at his home, 760 Jefferson Ave. The funeral service tomorrow evening will be conducted under Masonic auspices and the ibnternment Saturday will be made in Lutheren Cemetery.Mr. Vath was a member of the Grand Street Board of Trade and one of the first stockholders of the North Side Bank on Grand Street.He went into business as a milk dealer at 38 Grand Street, 60 years ago and was widely known in that section of the old Williamsburg. After 20 years he embarked in the wine and liquor trade at the same address, retiring some years ago. Mr. Vath was a large holder of real estate in lower Eastern Dist. on the north side and in his early life was active civily and politically.He was born in Baden, Germany, August 17, eighty years ago. He is survived by two daughters, Mrs. William Heinrich and Minna Ferary; two grand children, and two great grand children.
