I have goosebumps! This couple is THEM!!! This is the very first time I have found them ANYWHERE!!
There are several differences in the details but even more similarities.
I have Ann B. Vermillion in my records as Anney "Barbery" Hardeo but I never knew she was from Germany. And to now know that George was born in Virginia can probably place him in Virginia. I have been searching mostly in Maryland because either the 1830 or 1840 Census said their parents were born in Maryland.
I'm afraid all the support and backup I have is packed away, but I will have to get out my books.
Although my records say George died in 17 Aug 1859 (rather than 17 Jul 1859) he was 78 years old when he died so my birth year is correct. And Anney died the year previous to him.
I did not know George had any siblings. My Great Aunt who passed away a couple of years ago was the primary source for most of my information. She had a long correspondence with Lucy Drummond, who did much of the research on which Ira Vermillion's books are based, but she was never able to locate George or tie him in to any of the earlier families.
I have alot more to say when I get all my facts analyzed. We must keep in contact. I will be glad to share anything I have although it's only with my specific branch of the family.
This is absolutely marvelous. At last there are some real hints here!
Thanks so much for responding. Do you have any idea where I can get a copy of the Brown's History?
