Funeral services for Charles Edmond Vermillion, 82 years old, who died Thursday, November 24, were held at 3 o'clock Saturday afternoon, November 26, at the Fourth and College Church of Christ.Officiating was Jack White, minister. Burial was made in Strickland Cemetary. Vermillion was born at Pottsboro, Texas, November 2, 1884, and in 1892 moved with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Jim D. Vermillion, to a farm southeast of Cowden, Oklahoma.He was married at Cowden December 24, 1903, to Miss Carrie Taylor.They moved to Cordell in 1924.He was a member of the Church of Christ. The Vermillions eight months ago moved to the Sentinel nursing home. He died at 2 o'clock last Thursday morning at Cordell Memorial Hospital, where he had been a patient only a few hours. He is survived by his wife; a daughter, Mrs. Goldia Alena Tabor of Amarillo, Texas; a son, Orrie Damon Vermillion of Cordell; Six grandchildren and twelve great grandchildren; and a brother John Vermillion of Elk City.
