"Yeah we "never had no yankees in this here family""Yeah ok nice:o)ha ha
That's ok, my mom is from Tennessee. Her family had moved north for jobs at the time so that's where she spent her late teen years. The favorite story that I've always heard was shortly after they got married my Granddad had a family reunion.Mom went to introduce Dad to one of her aunts still living in the South and said this is Dave, my husband.Dad said she gave him a big smile started to put her hand out to shake it and asked...what part of the South are you from? When Mom informed her that he was from Michigan, I guess this woman started to pull her hand away with a look on her face like someone had passed gas in front her her say "You're a Yankee???".
Actually I'm trying to do both go forward and backwards.Just depends on what I can find.Lately I've not had much luck talking to live people about family.I tracked one person down in the Kyle family and left a group of voice mail and never heard back and no phone calls were ever taken...so normally I have better luck with folks who have passed on.If I can track down a James Verner in that area I'll let you know so we can see if it's a match.
