You may know this already but if not here it is.
Nehemiah Vernon was born in Rockingham County, NC married to a Ruth Massey, he also married Elizabeth Foster (2nd wife, I believe, I don't have my notes handy so I may have these two reversed). I am a descendent of Nehemiahs brother John Wesley Vernon, a missionary like his brother Nehemiah and there father Absolom Vernon. Nehemiah and John Wesley married their 2nd wifes on the same day in Lawrence County on Aug 8 1870. Absolom Vernon married Mary Vernon (a cousin), Absoloms parents were John Vernon and Sara Lemuel (sp?). John Vernons father was Joseph Vernon who died in the Rev. War. Josephs parents were Issac Vernon and Elizabeth Austin. Issac Vernons father was Thomas Vernon of the Cub Creek Virginia settlement. Thomas Vernon is believed to be the Thomas Vernon who was disowned by his Quaker family in Penn. and moved to Virginia, or perhaps moved to Virginia and was thus disowned, I believe that he is thought to be the son or of Robert Vernon of the William Penn colony. Anyone out there have any clarification on the connection of Thomas Vernon to the 3 Vernon brothers?
There is a picture of Nehemiah Vernon and wife on one of the covers of the Vernon Vignettes, have you seen this?
