Dear Vian searcher, Yes, there is a Vian in my family who went to Oklahoma! My great great grandmother, Maru Zelinda Counterman (1832-1910) after the sudden death of my great great grandfather, Bolivar Cross, married Enos Vian ( 1825-1876?) a Civil War veteran. By this second marraige there was a son, Chauncy or Chancy Vian (born 11/11/1876). He would have been a half brother to my great grandfather, Jacob Cross. Our family records clearly state that Chauncey went to Oklahoma.Does this help? Family records also state that Enos Vian had a brother Liege Vian and a sister Rebecca Vian (1831-1924).She also married into my family and is my great great grandmother. Rebecca Vian married my great great grandfather L. Theodore Ehl from Germany. My father remembered her well. She lived to a ripe old age. I am therefore twice related to the Vians:Rebecca was my great great grandmother and Chauncy Vian of Oklahoma was the son of my great great grandmother, Mary Zelinda Counterman/Cross by a second marraige to Enos Vian.
