This message is intended for David Cooke.I did reply to you privately on 7 September, David, but as I haven't heard back, am posting this here.Below is the quotation from the book which is of interest to you:
"The youngest son of Thomas and Margaret Vicary was William Newell Vicary, born in 1810.He married Charlotte Caroline COOKE, a sister to his brother's wife Mary Jane.Their first two children, Charlotte Mary, 1842, and Margaret Jane, 1843, were baptised at Landkey and Instow respectively. In 1848 William and Charlotte decided to emigrate to America, first settling in Gennesse County, New York State. The younger daughter Margaret was left behind as her health was poor and she was not thought fit to stand the rigorous journey. She was to die at the age of 24 and is buried at Westleigh near Bideford.Seven other children were born to William and Charlotte and their descendants in the USA today are numerous."
A very interesting book, by the way! Regards, Yvonne
