Questions--- Who is the Charlotte with John Vickers?
Abstracts of Edgecombe Co. North Carolina Deeds 1759-1772- show John Vickers - (son of Ralph)- and Elizabeth Vickers sold to William Scarborough 1761-Ralph Jr. witnessed the deed – 200 acres on South Bank of Town Creek adjacent to Priscilla Bloodworth*- Witnessed by David Scarborough, (father to the Scarboroughswho married to Rachel and Sarah Vickers- David Scarborough and Nancy Dunn.)Who is this Elizabeth Vickers? ** In 1783 Anson Co. Wills and Estates- Estate sale of John Williamson- deed buyers included Mary, Rebekah, Patty Williamson, Ralph Vickers, Burwell Lanier, Pat Boggan John May, Joshua Morgan, David Jameson, Pat Boggan, Jr., Nat Dobbs, Jesse Miller,John Leverett, George Hammons, Mary Morgan andJohn Bloodworth.*The Jamesons and the May family intermarried later with some of Hardy Vickers family.
*Abraham Vickers was youngest son of Ralph (mentioned in Ralph’s will as such) and brother to those who are said to appear in his will in Pulaski Co. They would be his heirs if he died without children of his own, which apparently he did – as the plantation belonging to Ralph had reverted to him after the death of his Mother, Sarah, whose will dated 1781 and probated August Court 1783- made that provision as designated by Ralph. The indenture dated 1784 above perhaps would shed some light as to what he did with the property. We do not find Abraham any more in N. Carolina. Then that indicates that Hardy and Nathan Vickers are his nephews not thru Ralph Jr. who married Ann Baker and died in York Co. S.C. listing 4 children, but John his brother by Sarah, who married Mary and died 1784 in Edgecombe Co.
