M. Rosalie Vidal, married to Lewis L. Barnes, was my great-great-great-grandmother. I do know that Rosalie, along with most, if not all, of her siblings, was born in Zimbabwe where her mother (Elizabeth Coseille) and her father (F. Paul Vidal) lived for many years after moving their from Barcelona, Spain.I have always wondered how why they moved to Zimbabwe before immigrating to the States. If anyone knows, please pass along the info as our family considers this a great mystery.
Rosalie and Lewis lived in Richmond, Virginia their entire lives after moving there. One of their sons, Edwin Forrest Barnes, served in the Civil War as a Confederate soldier. His uniform is on display at the Confederate Museum in Richmond. I am descended through him.I have a lot of information about the family. Please feel free to contact me.
