Is there anyone out there that can "prove" that this John F Virden's middle name was Fleming? He was my ggg grandfather and the only proof I have seen written is the "F".All other accounts seem to be speculation....I would love to find someone with something written. Please, please contact me if you have something.I know that there was another John Fleming Virden born nearly the same time that seems to be thrown around interchangably on the internet with my John F Virden. They were probably related however. My John F Virden first married Mary Huston(she died by 1840) and they had 2 children, William H and Mary....William H Virden, May 1837, Albion,IL latrer became a judge in Mono county, CA and a lawyer in Reno where he died in 1922. I don't know where this Mary Virden(abt1838) ended up....When her mother Mary Huston Virden died at or near the time of little Mary's birth she went to live with and continued to live with her paternal grandparents, William Virden and Martha Williamson. (I know this because Elizabeth Julia Virden Fancher stated in some of her writings that her niece Mary was raised with her like a sister after her oldest brother, John's 1st wife died. Her name is in the 1850 census with her grandparents) After his first wife died, John F Virden married Jane Hunt McCown, a widow with no children.Together they had James, John Wesley(my gg grandfather), Charlotte(Perley), Emily(Neikirk), Martha(Calkins), Martin?, Josephine(Griffen), and Georgiana?.
I am not disputing that John's middle name was Fleming....I am just asking for some proof from anyone who might have it.
