Many thanks for your reply!Yes, I do remember corresponding with you and it is great to hear from you again.
Yes, I have also seen the information you have posted, and I also received a copy from another researcher. The information seems fairly accurate as it matches pretty closely with what I have found in my research.
What I have been trying to sort out are the wives of Matthews Davis. It is very possible that there could have been 4:
Elizabeth King Lucy Baber Lucy Vivion Phoebe
Most Davis researchers feel that Matthew Davis who married Elizabeth King was the son of Richard and Priscilla (Coe) Davis.I was in contact with an individual researching a Matthew Davis of Callaway Co., MO and she had a list of children that were completely different from the children mentioned in your message, and I am now beginning to think that there were two different Matthew Davis' in Callaway Co., MO from the late 1820 to the mid 1840s, both being around the same age.I believe this is where most of the confusion stems from.
So much more work needs to be done of this family.I have some leads on the Vivion connection, but I do not want to pursue these leads until I know for certain that my Mahala Baber Davis was the daughter of Lucy (Vivion) Davis.
