Looking for the Behrens Family that worked for Gruen.
I am Searching For Paul Herbert Behrens (von Behrens)Family Members that survived WW-2. The Family Estate was in Dresden, Germany and my great grandfather was the watchmaker to Kaiser Wilhelm. He went to school with Gruen. Two of his sons Kirt and (?) went to New York and worked with Gruen and later Gruen's two sons. They also had one daughter Anna. Son #3 Hugo Otto Herbert Behrens was to go into the German Naval Acadamy but went to sea as a Merchant Marine at the age of 15. He traveled around the horn 3 time and landed in Seattle where he was put ashore with Malaria. Paul's wife Anna died in 1937 Upon contact from the German Embassy in LA His Son Hugo Otto Herbert Behrens and His Grandson Paul Herbert Behrens were asked to Return to Germany to take over the Estate. Upon seeing what was going on in the Embassy My Grandfather Declined the invitation to return to Germany.
Paul Herbert Behrens b-1920 was named after his grandfather.
vonBehrens was a title upon Knighting by the Emperor Wilhelm. Also Being related to the Hapsburgs.
I believe all the remaining German members of my family were killed in WW2.
The only survivors woulf be those that went to work with Gruen, of Gruen Watch. See details below if you can shed light on my family. Thank You: Paul Herbert Behrens Jr.
Any Help Locating any Surviving Family Members Would Be Greatly Appreciated. Thank You Paul H. Behrens, Jr. (3rd.)
