My mom's family is from Friesland, however they are Herrema's. But, my dad's side is from England where my Wadman name comes from. I was told that the name Wadman is derived from the name of a trade dating back thousands of years. In the old days, when you had sheep, you would have a guy come around to your farm called the Wodeman. He would dip your sheeps wool into this certain dye, as opposed to branding, as a form of identifying one's sheep. He became known as the Wodeman, and over the years the name became Wadman.
