I'm sorry you think I am interested in Max or the Waegele Family. My reason for wanting to contact someone in the family is because of all the pictures I hate to destroy if someone wants them. When Zetta died Max called and wanted someone to come out and get the things Zetta wanted Violette( her niece and my mother-in-law) to have.
I don't know exactly what all transpired before but my husband took his mother and they went out there.Max did not notify any of us when Zetta died.Zetta had lost her mind some time before her death and later I think Max must have slipped a little too.Several months after they came back with a van load of books, papers, clothes, and some assorted other junk, Max wrote and told Violette she should be ashamed for coming out there and taking all his things and him a sick old man.We offered to return everything but he didn't want that .Violette whose mind was going bad put all this stuff in the basement and never looked at it again. When we cleaned out the house after Violette went to a home we found all this stuff.I kept the pictures in case I could find a relative that wanted them.
Zetta Iris Lockmonwas born April 8, 1895 in Appanoose county Iowa. She was married to M.T. Smith and then to Max Waegele. She was an English teacher and Grace was her friend. That is how she knew Max.After Grace died he contacted Zetta and they corresponded until they married.
