This for Sally Baldwin Hi, Sally - I picked up the information about William Wallace Wakeling and I hope that you will not mind if I make a few observations. Thomas was born C1829 at Nether Broughton, a son of William Wakeling/Ann Freeman (2nd marriage for William). Fanny was born C1836 at Wilford, Notts.Thomas and Fanny were married in 1859 in the Basford, Notts registration district. They had a daughter, Kate, born C1862. It is therefore highly unlikely that they would have been in Scotland in 1859 when John Wallace was born. Further Fanny's surname was Wallis, not Wallace. John Wallis Wakeling married Mary Ann Musson in 1881 in the Melton Mowbray registration district. None of this gives any indication of a Scottish link and I think that you have confused John Wallace Wakeling (about whom I have no information) with John Wallis Wakeling. If your own interests are in the Northamptonshire branch I have researched and compiled a family tree that may be of interest to you and which has links to living descendants. It is not my branch, but as you will see from the Genforum Messages, I have an interest in all Wakeling genealogy.
