I am also a descendant of James Canty Walding. James had 11 children, 1 girl and 10 boys, 1 died at birth. Their names were: Annie Lee Walding, b. 4/29/1890, d. 10/09/1969; Walter Wesley Walding, b. 7/29/1891, d. 1/15/1925; James Clarence Walding, b. 11/27/1893, d. 6/3/2000; Joseph Zonnie Walding, b. 1/05/1896, d. 10/27/1962; John Euel Walding, b. 3/27/1898, d. 5/19/1925; Thomas Canty Walding, b. 2/28/1900, d. 7/27/1905; Malcolm Marion Walding, b. 7/16/1901, d. 8/26/1987; Robert Rowe Walding, b. 3/20/1903, d. 6/1962; Jessie Wade Walding, b. 6/8/1905, d. 4/9/1984; Harless Leslie Walding, b. 4/22/1907, d. 1/18/1995; and one died at birth in 1909.
My grandfather was Jessie Walding, the brother of Malcolm. That would make my father, Wallace Wade Walding, your mother's cousin.
The parents of James Canty Walding were James Clarence Walding, b. 1836, d. 6/10/1862, and Sarah Jane Prim, b. 4/3/1842, d. 3/13/1917.
The parents of James Clarence Walding were John Alexander Walding Sr, b. 1794, d. 1870, and Anna Peters, b. 1804, d. 1870.
The parents of John Alexander Walding Sr. were Samuel Walding, b. 1764, d. 1830, I don't have his wife's name.
The parents of Samuel Walding were Benjamin Walding, b. 1742, d. 1795 and Sarah Oliver, b. 1746, d. 1795.
I can't find any records before Benjamin Walding, but it looks like all of the Walding's that I have checked all over the country come from Benjamin Walding so he may have been the first one in the country.
