William was killed that day in one of be bloodiest battles of the Civil War when one compares the number of men who fought and the number who fell. William, who was the son of James B. Wallen and the great Grandson of Elisha Wallen the Longhunter. Lone Jack is located in Jackson County, Missouri. William fought with Cockrell's Cavalry (later dismounted and becoming the 16th Missouri Cavalry). He is buried in Corn's Cemetery, Jackson County, Missouri. William is my GG Uncle. I would love to hear from one of his descendents, if there are any. According to the Longhunter book, William was married but I have no information on any children.
