I have since found out via some other records & his death certificate & some census data that this/my Joseph Eden Walling's parents were Eden Walling b. abt 1800-1810 (also listed as Wallen & Wallin in other records) & Ruby Wilder b. abt. 1809. They married 1831 Oswego co., NY.They had John B. Walling, Emer O. Walling, Harvey D. Walling (m. Eliza Gates Stewart), Jospeh Eden Walling (m. Elizabeth J. Cosper), Hannah R. Walling, Frelove Walling.
I have found a William Wallin in the 1820 Federal Census for Richland, Oswego co., NY who was a free white male between 26-45 also in household was 1 female 26-45, 2 females under 10 & 1 male under 10. This male under 10 could be the above Eden Walling/Wallen/Wallin.
The 1830 Census index for Richland, Oswego co., NY has 2 seperate Walling households. An Eden Walilng b. RI w/ wife Ruby b. NY; & an Oliver Walling (I have no more info on this one as I do not have access to the full census info yet). The County of Oswego co., NY has listed in a directory of "Overseers of the Highway" as an Elden Wallen elected 3/6/1838
Another Walling mystery that might help me & one of you out also is that my Joseph Eden Walling's wife Elizabeth J. Cosper Walling had a younger brother Jason Monroe Cosper b. abt. 1843 OH, m. a Caroline Walling. They had a Minie Walling b. 4/10/1866 & Clyde Leroy Walling b. 6/1/1891. I have yet to find any researchers from this branch but I can assume that this Caroline Walling is some sort of relation to my Jospeh Eden Walling.
I would now really like to find out how to tie my Eden Walling/Wallen/Wallin b. RI into the other documented lines..
BTW we are having a big reunion this summer for decendants of this Joseph Eden Walling's granddaughter Mae Elizabeth "Lizzy" Walling & Logan John Atwood. I would love to be able to inform & give everyone more info.
